Botanical hydration, perfected

Cowbell takes the guesswork out of plant watering by letting plants drink on their own for over 2 weeks. Plant watering devices typically overwater in a short period of a few days due to unregulated flow out of a simple hole set below the level of the soil. The Cowbell Self-Watering Plant Care Kit features a white ceramic diffuser cone that allows moisture to pass from the sealed reservoir to the soil and roots only as the plant draws up water. A patent-pending vacuum-regulation valve in the top lid allows air in to replace the water that’s been consumed. The result is a perfectly balanced watering system that responds to each individual plant’s needs; optimizing growth and eliminating root rot.

Ground Control

The design of the unit was informed through an iterative process of fabricating and testing functional mockups. The tall, slim form and offset downspout steer clear of stems while providing easy access to the sealed refill hatch on top. A ground spike made of partially recycled plastic protects the thin-walled ceramic cone. The three blades easily penetrate root-bound soil and provide excellent stability.
